Advanced Materials in Medicine at Manchester is a collaborative effort of researchers at The University of Manchester to discover and use advanced materials to meet clinical needs. We draw upon expertise from colleagues across our engineering, biological, physical and clinical science disciplines.
This cross-disciplinary collaboration allows us to conduct pioneering research that leads to the discovery of new advanced materials and innovative uses for them in medical contexts. Our research also provides the raw material for further commercial and clinical development pipelines in Manchester, housed by the Royce and forthcoming Pankhurst Institutes.
Our highly collaborative team is made up of a mix of academics and "intrapreneurs" with a wide range of skills that provide the capability to achieve our research aims. We have structured our group to balance contribution, skills and leadership between the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health and Faculty of Science and Engineering, to therefore ensure a sustainable interdisciplinary community. You can find out more about our staff and the structure of our organisation, on our people page below.
We also actively work with a number of key partners in industry; more information about who we work with can be found on our partners page.
